The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund provides single parents in Arkansas new hope to build a better future for their families.

  • Only single parents in Arkansas are considered 
  • Must be enrolled for either a part-time and full-time education program in a  post-secondary institution.

4. Assistance League of the Triangle Area Scholarship Program

About: The Assistance League are Volunteers who make efforts to transform the lives of women and children through community programs

The organization offers needs-based scholarships to deserving students residing in Wake, Durham or Orange counties, single mothers included. 

The scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a certificate program, an associates degree, or an initial bachelor’s degree.

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a resident of Wake, Durham, or Orange counties.
  • Must be a U. S. citizen or present proof of permanent resident status.
  • Must be enrolled in a non-profit post secondary educational or technical institution in North Carolina.

5. Barbara Thomas Enterprises Inc. Graduate Scholarship

Award: $5000

About: The Barbara Thomas Enterprises Inc. Graduate Scholarship provides a needs-based award to single parents pursuing a Master’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT) at an accredited institution.

The award is an initiative of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Foundation and only members are awarded.

8. Coplan Donohue Single Parent Scholarship

Award: Up to $2,000

About: One of the very common online college grants for single mothers is the Coplan Donohue Single Parent Scholarship. To apply for the scholarship applicants will write an essay on parenting and the reason s for going on to further obtain a degree 

Your personal drive and information about your family will be required in the application. 

Eligibility: 

  • Non-traditional/single-parent student with primary physical custody of children.
  • Must be committed to parenting.
  • Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in any major attending MSU both fall and spring semesters of the upcoming academic year.
  • Must be in good standing with Minnesota State University, Mankato.

9. Crane Fund for Widows and Children Scholarships

Award: $500

About: The Crane Fund for Widows and Children (CFWC) is a needs-based financial assistance to the underserved populations in the communities where Crane Co. operates. 

The scholarship is offered to women and children who are unable to obtain or continue a formal education. 

The scholarship is actually intended for widows or their children but can also accommodate deserving women and children in the family of a man who is unable to financially support them due to age or other disabilities. 

Eligibility:

  • Must demonstrate need for the scholarship 
  • Women and children who are unable to obtain or continue formal education due to death of the man in the family or incapacitation of the man.

10. Dan Roulier Single Parent Scholarship

Award: $1,000

About: The Dan Roulier Single Parent Scholarship is the first of the online college grants for single mothers which is specifically focused on students of Nursing. 

The scholarship considers only Nursing Students at Springfield Technical Community College.

Eligibility:  

  • Should be a single-parent
  • Should have a GPA of 2.0 in a course load of at least 12 credits

11. Dominion Scholarship for Single Heads of Households

Award: $1,000 scholarship to cover the costs for tuition and/or textbooks

About: The Dominion Scholarship for Single Heads of Households is a program sponsored by the Dominion People. 

To qualify, the male and female student should have single custodial care of their children.

Applicants need to be a student at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC). 

Eligibility: 

  • Must be currently registered for credit classes
  • Must be a single head of household with primary custody
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

12. Downer-Bennett Scholarship

About: The Downer-Bennett Scholarship is an award for non-traditional undergraduate students at the Gallup campus of the University of New Mexico. 

The award is granted to single parents who have primary custodial care over one or more dependent children. 

The applicants must be enrolled for a full-time program at the university.

  • Students at the Gallup campus of the University of New Mexico.

The International Federation of University Women (IFUW) is an organization which offers a  number of international fellowships and grants to women graduates (who are members of the organization) for postgraduate research, study and training in any field.
